Inspired by the special exhibition Toys: The Way We Play\, this hands-on workshop explores the physics of magnetism. You’ll investigate unique properties of magnets and engineer your own magnetic creation. \nPut Your Heart Into It: Homeschool Day\nHow is playing good for your heart? In this interactive program\, we will explore games and toys that keep us moving. Join us as you embark on your own journey to learn tools that keep us healthier through play. \n\n9:30 – Marvelous Magnets (any grade level)\n10:30 – Put Your Heart Into It (Grades K-2)\n11:30 – Marvelous Magnets (any grade level)\n12:30 – Put Your Heart Into It (Grades 3 & Up)\n\nNon-members: $8+ per participant / Members: $6+ per participant. You’ll investigate the unique properties of magnets and engineer your own magnetic creation. \nImportant Information: \n\nAdditional fee and advance registration required for event. Purchase includes all supplies needed for interactive workshop and collectible button.\nNon-participating family members are welcome (space permitting) and do not need to purchase a ticket.\nRecommended for all ages over 5.\nProgram runs approximately 45-60 minutes.\nParticipation in this event requires Witte Museum admission (sold separately)\, plus STEAM Sunday ticket for each participant 5 years and older.

SUMMARY:Ode to Juneteenth
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to celebrate DreamWeek with a special performance at the Witte Museum! \n“Ode to Juneteenth\,” a play written by Eugene Lee \nFollow Emancipation Jones through time to discover how the celebration of Juneteenth has shaped history and the state of Texas. \nJeremy Bilbo will portray Emancipation Jones in this Free Tuesday performance of “Ode to Juneteenth” written by award-winning playwright Eugene Lee. Jeremy is a local singer and actor who has joy and enthusiasm for the stage and has been part of the Witte Team since January of 2019. As a Witte InterActor\, Jeremy has been seen as Captain Calcium\, Dr. Dug\, the Peristaltic Plumber\, Choosy Chef and Cowboy Jeremy. Outside of the Witte\, Jeremy has had the opportunity to work with local theaters including the Magik Theatre\, Woodlawn Theatre and The Renaissance Guild. He is honored to portray Emancipation Jones in “Ode to Juneteenth.” \nThis performance is included with Free Tuesday general admission.
