The Witte Museum is San Antonio’s premiere museum of South Texas history, culture, and natural science.

Located in Brackenridge Park, on the banks of the San Antonio River, the Witte is conveniently located only minutes from Downtown in a tranquil area of San Antonio and offers a unique setting for any special event, for groups of 10 up to 1,500 people. See the rental packages below for details on the beautiful venues available. The Witte also allows guests to rent the entire museum facility in the evenings for private events.

Dawson Family Hall is a unique new space only minutes from downtown San Antonio. The Hall is suitable for all occasions including weddings, luncheons, galas, and conferences. The Dawson Family Hall is a 4,500 square-foot space that can accommodate a banquet up to 300 guests. The arch windows showcase a panoramic view of John R. and Greli N. Less Charitable Trust Science and Nature Courtyard. The ambiance of the golden ratio complemented by the majestic Oak and Elm trees will create an unforgettable experience for your guests.

H-E-B Body Adventure Package

Capacity:

The rooftop seats 50 guests

The H-E-B Body Adventure is a four-story, 15,000 square-foot educational facility that includes hands-on health and wellness exhibits that appeal to all ages. The rooftop’s Charles Naylor Moutlon Serenity Space offers a tranquil view of Brackenridge Park and the San Antonio River for your next VIP cocktail reception. The rooftop seats 50 guests.

This space is only available for evening rentals.

Mays Family Center Special Events Package

Capacity:

Up to 750 for banquet - Up to 1,000 for reception.

The Mays Family Center is a unique and beautiful space to downtown San Antonio that’s designed to host blockbuster exhibitions and serve as a special event center. The 10,000 square-foot space showcases floor to ceiling windows and a wraparound patio with panoramic views of the historic San Antonio River and Broadway corridor. The center is suitable for all occasions including weddings, luncheons, galas, and large educational conferences. The Mays Family Center can accommodate a banquet up to 700 guests. The addition of the Zachry Family Acequia Garden, showcasing our 300 year old Bald Cyprus trees completes the breathtaking experience.

Rentals of the Mays Family Center are available October 1st -April 30th each year.

Memorial Auditorium Package

Capacity:

90-110 people seated dinner or up to 200 theatre style seating.

The Memorial Auditorium is 1,000 square feet of open space lined with French doors. Its terra-cotta patio overlooks our Texas Wild Garden and is the perfect break area or picnic spot for an all day team building or corporate meeting. The Memorial Auditorium can seat up to 100 guests for a plated dinner and 200 guests for theatre style seating.

South Texas Heritage Center Package

Capacity:

Up to 75 for seated dinner or cocktail inside only.

The South Texas Heritage Center is a two-story, 20,000 square-foot building that serves as a permanent home for the Witte’s South Texas collections and exhibitions and houses our Ewing Halsell Hall. Your guests can enjoy cocktails among one of the finest collections of Texas History. The picturesque two-story glass atrium provides gorgeous views of our beautiful pollinator garden and the San Antonio River. The Ewing Halsell Hall can seat up to 75 guests for a seated dinner or up to 100 guests for cocktail hour.

Valero Great Hall Package

Capacity:

The Valero Great Hall an host up to 150 guests.

Make your event one your guests will never forget as they dine with the dinosaurs that walked South Texas millions of year ago in The Valero Great Hall. This grand foyer houses our permanent Naylor Family Dinosaur Gallery and can host up to 150 guests. Its floor to ceiling windows provide natural lighting that will compliment any occasion. Adjacent to our dinosaur gallery, sits our beautiful Texas Wild Garden with its lush hill country canopies, pollinator garden, and historic views of the San Antonio River and Brackenridge Park. The Texas Wild Garden can host up to 800 guests.

Prassel Auditorium Package

Capacity:

up to 210 people seated dinner; 300 people theatre-style seating in the Prassel Auditorium; and up to 1,200 people with adjoining veranda and courtyard areas for a cocktail reception.

The Prassel Auditorium measures 3,300 square feet plus the adjoining veranda and courtyard area. The Prassel Auditorium is equipped with a permanent stage, dance floor and audio/visual capabilities. The auditorium opens to the foyer and main hallway of the museum, which are included in this package.
