No online booking fees! We recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance for faster admission and to avoid lines. Special exhibitions may require an additional Special Ticket for admission.

The Witte Museum is open year-round except for Easter, April 24-25, May 21, the third Monday in October, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Free Parking & Directions

The Witte Museum is located in Brackenridge Park at 3801 Broadway in San Antonio, Texas.

Parking is always free for Witte Museum visitors. Park in the Brackenridge Park Parking Garage on Avenue B, just south of the Witte Museum. Take the Adventure Walk from the parking garage to the H-E-B Lantern Entrance located on Broadway.

Accessible parking and drop-offs are available on Gunn Drive North Lot located to the north of the Witte Museum.

Overflow parking is available on the north end of the Witte campus and across the street on the east side of Broadway in the Allensworth St. parking lot.

The museum is easily accessible through public transportation and is on VIA Metropolitan Transit bus routes 9 and 14. Visit to plan your trip.

We ask that all visitors observe the following guidelines:

  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Photography is permitted and encouraged, but not flash or tripods (Be sure to tag @WitteMuseum when you post photos and videos!)
  • Food and drinks are available for purchase in the Tremblay Café.
  • Tables and chairs are located at certain areas throughout the museum for your convenience.
  • Please enjoy food and drinks outside in our Charity Ball Foundation Picnic Pavilion. Food and drinks are not permitted in the Museum Galleries.
  • Complimentary non-motorized wheelchairs are available upon request. You will need to leave an ID at the Walker Admissions Desk.
  • The Witte Museum is a smoke- and vape-free environment.
  • Service animals are allowed; however, pets are not.
  • If you are visiting from out of town and have a large suitcase, we can check it for you, but we reserve the right to inspect prior to accepting the item.
  • For your safety, shoes are required on the Witte Museum campus. Additionally, closed-toed shoes are required for Mt. Witte and the H E Buddy Skycycle exhibits.

Covid-19 Update

Covid-19 Community Levels are a tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest data. The San Antonio Community Level is listed on the City of San Antonio Dashboard. You may choose to wear a mask at any time, but they are not required. The Witte will continue to monitor Community Levels.

  • Enjoy free General Admission every Tuesday from 3 pm– 6 pm into the Witte Museum campus. General Admission is access to the Witte’s permanent galleries and exhibitions that are with General Admission. Reserve your Free Tuesday at the Witte tickets in advance on our website.
  • Free Tuesdays are presented by H-E-B and generously supported by Valero Benefit for Children, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, Capital Group Companies, Greehey Family Foundation, Nathalie Gladys Dalkowitz Charitable Trust, Fay L. and William Cowden Charitable Foundation and Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation.

The Witte Museum participates in Museums for All. As participants, the Witte Museum offers $3 general admission to individuals and families receiving food assistance (SNAP and WIC) benefits. Visitors simply show an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card and photo ID to redeem the discount for up to four people per card. 

The Witte participates in the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Travel Passport Program which offers reciprocal free general admission benefits to Witte members when they travel. 

Explorer level Witte members receive Time Travelers as a free reciprocal membership network for historical museums, sites, and societies throughout the United States. The Missouri History Museum created the program in 1998 so that members of historical institutions could receive exclusive benefits and privileges at museums and historical sites nationwide. 

The Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Passport Program is a consortium of more than 270 museums throughout the world. The Witte is a part of this collection of museums that encourage reciprocity. Members have free access to other ASTC member facilities. Call 210.357.1910 today to see if you are eligible for free admission to the Witte Museum, or to more than 270 museums around the world.
