Astronaut Academy Jr. • Ages 6-8
How do astronauts travel, eat and sleep in space? Inspired by the special exhibition Surviving Space: Astronauts and Asteroids, this summer camp investigates what it takes to be a space explorer. Use teamwork, science and innovation to solve and complete missions.
Campers will meet a real scientist and experience Earth just as astronauts would in Astronaut Academy.

Dinosaurs in Texas? Discover what scientists know about the prehistoric creatures that once roamed Texas!
Immerse yourself in fossils from the Museum’s own collections and learn the science skills needed to study dinosaurs from real-life paleontologists. Explore different types of fossils and how to identify them through hands-on investigations of dinosaur fossil teeth, claws, track and more. What fossils will you uncover?

Corn or flour tortillas? What’s your favorite fiesta food? Make Texas foods, past and present, as you discover the many traditions and techniques used to create delicious dishes.
Campers will learn about safety in the kitchen while creating a variety of delicious recipes that highlight the flavors of Texas. What will you cook up?
