Purchasing and Using Your Membership

Witte Museum memberships can be purchased at the Walker Admissions Desk, online, by mail or phone. Your membership will be activated immediately. You can use your membership onsite even if your membership card hasn’t yet arrived. New Members may request a temporary card at the Walker Admissions Desk until their permanent card arrives in the mail.

Yes. Gift memberships are available for purchase at the Walker Admissions Desk, online or by phone. Contact the Membership Department at Membership@WitteMuseum.org or 210.357.1863 to purchase a gift membership.

The Witte Museum offers a discounted Family-level membership for seniors and also offers a $10 discount for United States active-duty military and military veteran families who present appropriate and valid identification at the time of purchase or renewal. Discount may not be combined with any other offers. At this time, we do not offer special memberships for students or educators.

If you would like to include your child’s caregiver on your membership, please contact the Membership Department to make this update or to upgrade to a membership level that includes additional adults. Only adults listed on the membership account may have access to membership benefits. Children must be accompanied by an adult with an active membership to receive entry into the Museum as a Member.

Most Witte Museum memberships are valid for one year. 2-Year Family and 2-Year Senior Family memberships are valid for two years and a Quillin Society Club Level membership is valid for three years.

Visit the Witte website and log in using your email address and password on file to access your membership benefits, renew your membership, and purchase admission and event tickets.

Forgot your password? Click “Forgot Password” and submit your email address on file. If your email address is found in our database, you will receive an email with instructions to reset your password.

If this is your first time logging in to our site and you are a current member with an email address already on file, click on the “Forgot Password” link and submit your email address on file. You will receive an email with instructions to create a password for your account.

If you are a member and your email address is not recognized, please contact the Membership Department at Membership@WitteMuseum.org or 210.357.1863. You will not be able to access your membership account by using guest checkout or creating a new account.

Membership Cards

You should receive your card in the mail approximately 2-3 weeks after purchase. If you do not receive it within that time, please notify the Membership Department at Membership@WitteMuseum.org or 210.357.1863 to verify your address or to request a new card be mailed to you. Beginning January 2022, Witte Members will have access to digital membership cards; if you have not received your digital card via email, please contact the Membership Department to confirm your email address on file.

Yes. Additional cards may be purchased for $3 at the Walker Admissions Desk, online or by phone.

Please note: You do not need to have your card with you to visit the Museum. Simply show your ID or digital membership card at the Walker Admissions Desk for verification and admission.

Starting in January 2022, the Witte Museum will begin offering digital membership cards, which can be downloaded and saved to your smartphone. Going digital means you never have to worry about forgetting your membership card, in addition to being more environmentally friendly and helping to reduce administrative costs.

For iPhone users: access the email from your smartphone and click the “Download” button, then click “Add to Wallet” and “Add.” The card will automatically be saved in your iPhone’s Apple Wallet and can be accessed at any time. If you do not see the email, please check your spam and promotions folders.

For Android users: download Wallet Passes from Google Play. Once you have the app, access the email from your smartphone and click the “Download” button. The card will automatically be saved in your Wallet Passes app and can be accessed at any time. If you do not see the email, please check your spam and promotions folder.

Navigate to the back of the card and use the share icon (box with arrow in top right corner – iPhone users) or “Share Pass” link (Android users) to send the card to the other individual(s) named on your membership. Please note that all members must have a photo ID upon entry.

If you have an iPhone, the card will automatically download to Apple Wallet. Check the app for your new card and scroll through any cards that are already downloaded. If you have an Android, you’ll need to download Wallet Passes from the Google Play store prior to downloading the card.

Yes. The safety of our members is very important to us, and we want to ensure that no one else is using your membership benefits.

The renewal process will not change – renew your membership online, by mail, in person or over the phone and the expiration date on your digital card will automatically update once the membership is processed.

Printed membership cards will continue to be mailed out to members when their membership is renewed. If you do not have access to a printed or digital membership card, Witte members are also welcome to check-in at the Admissions Desk with a photo ID.

At this time, the Witte Museum does not offer digital gift memberships. For now, each gift purchaser can purchase a printed gift certificate at the Walker Admissions Desk or order a gift certificate online to be mailed to the gift purchaser or gift recipient.

Membership Benefits

Members enjoy free general admission to the Museum along with complimentary admission to special exhibitions on Members’ Opening Weekends. At any other time, Members receive discounted admission to special exhibitions. Family Plus members receive unlimited access to Special Exhibitions.

Tickets for any additional guests beyond the number covered by your membership are full price.

Yes. The Witte Museum participates in the Association of Science and Technology Centers. For more information and a list of participating institutions, please visit the ASTC Travel Passport Program website.

The Witte Museum’s admittance policy is two adults and children under 18. Please have your museum membership card ready to present to Admissions staff.
