Free Museum Day, Every Tuesday from 3 pm – 6 pm

Enjoy free General Admission into San Antonio’s Witte Museum every Tuesday from 3 – 6 p.m. Please reserve your tickets online in advance through our website.

Free Tuesdays are a great way to spend an afternoon exploring our permanent galleries with your kids and family. Or, use this time to get discounted access to exhibitions requiring a special ticket. That means, you can see Explore Your World for only $6 during free Tuesday starting this November.

Museums for All

Can’t make it during our Free Tuesday hours? The Witte Museum also participates in Museums for All. As participants, the Witte Museum offers $3 general admission to individuals and families receiving food assistance (SNAP and WIC) benefits. Visitors simply show an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card and photo ID at the Walker Admissions Desk to redeem the discount for up to four people per card. Special tickets for Antarctic Dinosaurs ($6) or Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family ($10) can be added at their regular ticket cost.

Navigate your way through a shipwreck, escape a building, use a real sonar scanner to map your friends and more as you explore the 19 interactive stations in Explore Your World. Then, finish your exploration by bringing the map you create along the way to life using augmented reality.

Antarctic Dinosaurs was developed by the Field Museum, Chicago in partnership with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, Discovery Place – Charlotte, NC and the Natural History Museum of Utah. Generous support was provided by the Kenneth C. Griffin Charitable Fund. Antarctic Dinosaurs at the Witte Museum is generously supported by HOLT CAT and the Mary Pat and Michael Bolner Exhibition Endowment Fund.

Admission to the Witte Museum is free each Tuesday from 3 pm – 6 pm. Advance reservation through our website is recommended.
